Singur - view of a moderate

In the past few days, Singur has become a hot topic both in national and international arena. Without going into any controversy, I may add that there is need to consider the viewpoint of the other camp on the part of both the stakeholders. The state government should consider the demand of the Mamata camp with utmost sincererity as it missed the bus in the past by refusing to sit across the table on the issue with Mamata group. Similarly, Mamata should also think wheather returning 400 acres of land at this stage will really serve any purpose for the farmers. She should utilise her position now to bargain the best deal for the land losers from the government. Because, ultimately the people of Bengal in general and the people of Singur in particular will lose the most if the Tatas decide to pull out. I hope good sense will prevail and the impasse will be solved quickly.
